Directions to Rosendale B&B, Bed and Breakfast, Jackies Lane, Newick

From Haywards Heath head East along the A272 following signs to Newick and Uckfield. Just after the petrol station at North Chailey roundabout continue along the A272 and take the second turning on the left down Jackies Lane; follow the lane along and look out for the sign in our driveway (seventh house after the bend). Our post code is BN8 4QX.

SHEFFIELD PARK - approx. 10 mins; landscaped garden and surrounding parkland, with a ‘Capability Brown'  landscaped garden. Also home to the Bluebell Railway from where traditional steam engines carry you through Sussex. Films and TV  dramas are often filmed here.
WAKEHURST PLACE - approx. 15 mins; part of Royal Botanical Gardens of Kew.
ASHDOWN FOREST - heart of the High Weald area of outstanding beauty. AA Milne, Winnie the Pooh author, lived in Hartfield on the forest edge and many forest sites are recognisable in his stories.

NEWICK PARK - approx. 5 mins; Georgian house set in 200 acres of landscaped gardens and parkland.
LEWES CASTLE - approx. 15 mins; Norman castle in picturesque town of Lewes and nearby Barbican House museum. Also in Lewes Ann of Cleves house, home of the 4th wife of Henry VIII.
 

SISSINGHURST - one of worlds most celebrated gardens created by Vita Sackville-West.
HERSTMONCEUX CASTLE - approx. 25 mins; 15th Century moated castle.
HEVER CASTLE - childhood home of Ann Boleyn second wife of Henry  VIII.

GOODWOOD HOUSE - Duke of Richmond's home with fascinating Regency interior.
